About me
From a tropical island city called Amoy, I like to run away from home and hop on solo travels to cold places in the far north. My biggest dream in life is to live like a nomad and only buy one-way tickets.
I graduated from Dartmouth College in 2024 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a B.A. in Economics. My next stop is the University of Cambridge, where I will pursue an M.Phil. in Polar Studies at the Scott Polar Research Institute.
When I traveled, I stood in the snow, listened to my footsteps, looked at the sun, the clouds, and the stars, and reflected on our relationship with the Earth. The troubles of us human beings seemed so trivial as I stood in silence in those magical places in the North, where time seemed to have stopped.
The cold makes me feel alive. The constant switch between the excitement of physical thrills, and the tranquility that spellbinds me when I pause to appreciate the pureness and beauty of nature in the North, always makes me feel present. And in the middle of a snowfall, the noises of modern society disappear, and I always hear life's whispers, enchanting and clear.
In 2022 and 2023, I went to Arctic Finland, Iceland, Arctic Alaska, and Arctic Norway to conduct research in the field of Arctic studies and environmental social science, learning from nature and the people living there. While not walking on the snow in those cold places, I enjoy doing some writing or other creative stuff late at night with my headphones playing chill dreamy indie music.
And the journey never ends.
Took this while standing in the freezing winds and blowing snow of Utqiagvik, waiting to interview an Iñupiat leader at her office. The office was lovely and warm, so was her :)
