The People and the Place

Everything about the people living in the far north is truly magical. They are like poets and nomads, singing and telling stories about life, love, kinship, land, waters, wilderness, and nature. They have an aura of calming power. Even just through reading their words, the calmness, thoughtfulness, tranquil energy, and mindfulness transfer to where I am and touch my soul.

Carl Sagan said astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. Learning from the people about the polar environment and their lives and knowledge, on the vast lands of tranquility and solitude, also gives you such transformative experience. It makes you reflect, on the land where life’s whispers are loud and clear with minimal external noises. It humbles you, when you hear stories and learn about the wisdom of the people who truly respect the land and are connected with it deeply and spiritually.
